NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Tuesday, the  17th day of May, at  9:30 am, in the County Commissioners' Meeting Room, Old Lee County Courthouse, 2120 Main Street, Fort Myers, Florida, the Board of County Commissioners of Lee County, Florida, will consider the adoption of a County Resolution pursuant to Article VIII, Section 1, of the Florida Constitution and Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.  The title of the proposed County Resolution is as follows:

A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF LEE COUNTY, FLORIDA, ORDERING AND PROVIDING FOR A NON-BINDING REFERENDUM TO BE HELD AS PART OF THE GENERAL ELECTION ON NOVEMBER 8, 2016, ON THE QUESTION OF WHETHER TO CONTINUE TO USE GENERAL REVENUE FUNDS TO ACQUIRE, RESTORE, IMPROVE, AND MANAGE LAND UNDER THE EXISTING LEE COUNTY CONSERVATION 20/20 LAND PROGRAM, PURSUANT TO LEE COUNTY ORDINANCE 15-08.

The proposed ballot language to be considered is as follows:

CONSERVATION 20/20 NON-BINDING REFERENDUM

DO YOU APPROVE OF LEE COUNTY CONTINUING TO USE GENERAL REVENUE FUNDS TO ACQUIRE, RESTORE, IMPROVE, AND MANAGE LAND FOR CONSERVATION, SURFACE WATER MANAGEMENT, WATER QUALITY, WATER RECHARGE AND SUPPLY, FLOOD CONTROL, WILDLIFE HABITAT, PASSIVE PUBLIC RECREATION, AND OPEN SPACE PURPOSES, PURSUANT TO LEE COUNTY ORDINANCE 15-08 (COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE LEE COUNTY CONSERVATION 20/20 LAND PROGRAM)?

YES-For         NO-Against

Copies of this Notice and the proposed Resolution are in the Minutes Office of the Clerk of Courts of Lee County and available for inspection during regular business hours. 

Interested parties may appear at the meeting in person or through counsel, and be heard with respect to the proposed Resolution.

Anyone wishing to appeal the decision(s) made by the Board with respect to any matter considered at this meeting, will need a record of the proceedings for such appeal, and may need a verbatim record, to include all testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
