NOTICE OF INTENT TO ENACT A COUNTY ORDINANCE

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

            NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at 9:30 o’clock a.m., in the County Commissioners Chambers, Old Lee County Courthouse, 2120 Main Street, Fort Myers, Florida, by the Lee County Board of County Commissioners to consider the enactment of a County ordinance:

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE LEE COUNTY CHILD SAFETY ZONE ORDINANCE 09-19 TO MODIFY DEFINITIONS FOR “PERMANENT OR STATIONARY FACILITIES” AND “BUSINESS OR TRANSIENT FACILITIES”; AND, CREATE NEW PROVISIONS APPLICABLE TO LOITERING AND PROWLING BY SEXUAL PREDATORS AND OFFENDERS IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO CHILDREN.

            Copies of this Notice and the proposed Ordinance are on file in the Minutes Office of the Lee County Clerk of Courts and the Public Resources Office.  Both offices’ are located in the Courthouse Administration Building, 2115 Second Street, Fort Myers, Florida.

            Interested parties may appear at the meeting, in person or through counsel, and be heard with respect to the adoption of the proposed ordinance.

            To appeal a Board decision made during a public hearing, a record of the proceedings will be needed.  The person appealing the decision is required to ensure that the necessary verbatim record is made.
