Public Preconstruction Meeting

“OPEN HOUSE”

The Lee County Department of Transportation (LC DOT) is holding a public preconstruction meeting for the Bonita Beach Road Six-Lane Widening, from 4:30-6:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Living Waters Community Church, 27911 Vermont Street, Bonita Springs, FL.  The public is invited to attend anytime between 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. to view project plans and talk with the Lee County project team about the project.  The meeting will be conducted in an “open house” format; no formal presentation will be given.

Construction begins this summer to widen Bonita Beach Road to six lanes from Old 41 to Lime Street.  This project, jointly funded by Lee County Department of Transportation (LC DOT) and the City of Bonita Springs, completes the six-laning of Bonita Beach Road from Old 41 to Interstate 75.

The Bonita Beach Road Widening project widens the existing four-lane roadway to six, 11-foot travel lanes from Old 41 to Lime Street and adds a four-foot bike lane and six-foot sidewalk in each direction.  The decorative street lighting remains along the roadway, although some light poles may be relocated.  There will not be any access changes with these improvements.  New signalization will be installed at the intersections of Old 41 and Racetrack Road. Median landscaping will complete the project.
