Notice is hereby given that Lee County will apply for a USC Section 5307 Urbanized Area Formula Program grant with the Federal Transit Administration which will provide for operating and capital project assistance to Lee County's Transit Department, LeeTran.

Any interested party may request a public hearing by the Lee County Board of County Commissioners regarding the Program of Projects budget for this Urban Area Formula Program grant application.  To request a public hearing please submit a written request within 10 (ten) days of this notice to Lee County Transit 3401 Metro Parkway Fort Myers, FL 33901.

Any interested party may obtain a copy of this grant application at Lee County Transit 3401 Metro Parkway Fort Myers, FL 33901 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. 

Project Description: The project cost for this USC Section 5307 Urbanized Area Formula Program grant is estimated at $3,089,541 federal share the portion of FY 2017 appropriation available under continuing resolution. This amount represents 7/12th of the available funding under this formula grant.  Program funds will be matched with the state of Florida Department of Transportation's Transportation Development Credit. LeeTran will amend the budget when the balance of funds becomes available.

Projects proposed will include funding for replacement bus purchase, preventative maintenance, ADA paratransit service, bus passenger shelters, software, planning, associated capital maintenance Items, and construction of fueling station canopies.
