The Board of Lee County Commissioners of Lee County, Florida proposes to adopt a Resolution changing the Lee County Commission District boundaries. The District boundaries are proposed to be changed pursuant to Article VIII, Section 1(e), Florida Constitution, Chapter 124, Florida Statutes, and the Lee County Charter in response to the 2010 Decennial Census. The Board may adopt the district boundaries depicted on the map below or make further modifications to boundary alignments.
A public hearing to adopt a resolution changing the current County Commission District boundaries will be held on Tuesday, the 11th day of October, 2011, at 9:30 o’clock a.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, in the County Commissioners’ Meeting Room, Old Lee County Courthouse, 2120 Main Street, Fort Myers, Florida. Once adopted, the Resolution establishing the new Lee County Commission District Boundaries will be published and later forwarded to the Department of State, as provided by law.
Copies of the 2011 Lee County Commission Redistricting Report and documents prepared by the Department of Community Development, Division of Planning and the proposed Resolution are on file in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court, Minutes Department, Second Floor of the Lee County Courthouse Building, 2115 Second Street, Fort Myers, Florida. Copies of the redistricting map are available at Lee County Public Resources, First Floor of the Lee County Courthouse Building, 2115 Second Street, Fort Myers, Florida.
