Details: This construction project will provide a new LeeTran transportation facility within Lehigh Acres to better accommodate the transportation needs of this growing community. Included within the project is construction of four bus bays, parking, bicycle storage, restrooms, a covered waiting area, and technology driven amenities. In addition, this location will eventually serve as the hub for the Lehigh Acres Mobility-on-Demand service. This facility will be located adjacent to the Lehigh Acres Community Park which is currently being expanded, and will be conveniently located near a proposed library. This project is consistent with LeeTran’s 2021-2030 Transit Development Plan to develop, improve, cultivate, and evolve public transportation in Lee County over the next 10 years.
