This facility has a small park area with a playground, picnic tables, a grill and outdoor restrooms. All amentities in the park are on a first come, first served basis. The community center located in the park can be rented for small events such as baby showers, birthday parties, or family reunions. Additional parking is located across Buckingham Road. Please email bwemer@leegov.com or call (239) 922-4219 Monday through Friday for Buckingham Community Center reservations. The park grounds can be very wet and muddy during the summer months. Building Rental
- The building can be rented between the hours of 8 a.m. and 11 p.m.
- The amenities include tables, chairs, kitchen with a microwave, large refrigerator, sink, and trash cans.
- The dimensions of the rooms are - Main Room: 39' x 19', Side Room: 19' x 13', Room by Kitchen: 21' 6" x 15' 3".
- There are eleven 6ft tables, twelve 8ft tables, and chairs for 100 people available.
- Sternos, candles, smoke/fog machines, glitter, and confetti are strictly prohibited for use on the property. Alcohol is prohibited on the property. Smoking is not permitted inside the center or within 50ft of the center's entrances.
- Staples, screws, or tacks on the tables, chairs, walls, on the outside of the building, or on the trees for decorations is not permitted. All decorations must be removed during cleanup after your event.
- There is minimal parking. Handicap parking is available. Additional parking is located across Buckingham Road. Please plan to carpool.
- All reservations will now require general liability insurance. The cost is roughly $100 and you can obtain your insurance through The Event Helper website. An Event Waiver and Release of Liability Form is also required.
- The cost of the rental is $40 per hour. A $250 refundable security deposit is required.
- We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover payment only.
- A pre-inspection and post-inspection of the facility is required for each event.
- A bounce house is allowed outdoors. Licensed vendor must provide power.
- There are no weekends available until March 2025.
The building was built in 1895. It was originally known as the Buckingham School House. Doctor Kantz was the first teacher. The school closed in 1948. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 1950, the building started to be used as a Community Center. Major renovations to the building were done in 2009.
