Address: 9285 Corkscrew Palms Blvd, (inside the Estero Community Park) Estero FL 33928 Estero Community Park, located in Estero, Florida, was established after Lee County purchased the property in 1998. When it first opened in December 2000, the park included only two football fields and a concession building on ten acres. After acquiring additional land, construction on the rest of the park and the recreation center began in November 2004. The expanded park officially opened to the public on October 30, 2006, featuring a playground, dog park, two multipurpose fields, four ponds, seven pavilions, a recreation center, 12 horseshoe pits, four clay bocce courts, three sand volleyball courts, and an 18-hole disc golf course.
Since 2008, the Estero Recreation Center has served as an emergency shelter multiple times during and after tropical storms and hurricanes. It has been one of 20 public emergency shelters in Lee County, with major operations occurring during Tropical Storm Fay (2008), Hurricane Irma (2018), and Hurricane Ian (2022).
In 2009, two historic structures—the 1904 Estero Creek Schoolhouse and the 1906 Hall/Hanson/Collier House—were relocated to Estero Community Park. The Estero Creek Schoolhouse was originally built in 1904 and expanded in 1911. It served as a school, Sunday school, and community meeting space. The Hall/Hanson/Collier House, dating back to around 1906, is also a historically significant structure. These buildings are operated by the Estero Historical Society.
On March 21, 2025, the Village of Estero purchased approximately 25 acres of Estero Community Park from Lee County to incorporate into its planned Sports Park and Entertainment District. The remaining 48 acres of the park continue to offer a playground, dog park, multipurpose field, four ponds, seven pavilions, a recreation center, 12 horseshoe pits, four clay bocce courts, three sand volleyball courts, and an 18-hole disc golf course.
