Conservation Land

Flag Pond Preserve contains several plant communities, including mesic and wet flatwoods, basin swamp and wet prairie. The name of the preserve is inspired by the high density of alligator flag which grows in the basin swamp, which remains wet nearly year-round. The preserve provides habitat for a variety of wildlife and bird species, including Swallow-tailed kite, white ibis, and great egret.

There are no plans for public access at this preserve. Nearby Conservation 20/20 preserves with public access and recreation activities include Six Mile Cypress Slough PreserveWild Turkey Strand Preserve and Buckingham Trails Preserve.
