PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, there will be conducted and held, a County-wide Special Referendum Election at which the duly qualified voters of Lee County, Florida, will be asked if they approve or disapprove of the adoption of Lee County Ordinance No. 12-13, authorizing slot machine gaming at any licensed pari-mutuel facility in any county in which a majority of voters have approved slot machines at such facilities in a countywide referendum held pursuant to a statutory or constitutional authorization in the respective county, provided such facility has conducted a full schedule of live racing for two (2) consecutive calendar years immediately preceding its application for a slot machine license, pays the required licensed fee, and meets the other requirements of Chapter 551, Florida Statutes.
Lee County Ordinance No. 12-13 and the slot machine gaming therein, which is subject to the Special Referendum Election, is proposed for confirmation pursuant to Section 551.102(4), Florida Statutes. The form of ballot will read substantially as follows:

A majority vote of the qualified electors voting in favor of slot machine gaming at licensed pari-mutuel facilities will approve Lee County Ordinance No. 12-13, and slot machine gaming at licensed pari-mutuel facilities will become effective. A majority vote of the qualified electors voting against slot machine gaming at licensed pari-mutuel facilities will disapprove Lee County Ordinance No. 12-13, and slot machine gaming at licensed pari-mutual facilities will not become effective.
