Registering a state license with Lee County Contractor Licensing will allow the County to keep the license, insurances and authorized signers on file. This service allows contractors to pull permits without having to appear and show proof with every application. Keeping an “authorized signer” list on file allows agents of the contractor to apply for and pick up permits. Registering with Lee County also allows a contractor the ability to submit and receive permits electronically and the ability to electronically attach their license to a permit as a subcontractor.

You may submit a workers' compensation exemption in lieu of workers' compensation insurance. Exemptions are applied for through the State of Florida. Their local office is located at 2295 Victoria Avenue, Suite 163, Fort Myers, FL 33901; phone number 239-461-4006.  Visit the State of Florida's Bureau of Compliance website for additional information.
