Prior to utilizing a site for a use authorized by
a development order, including issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy by the
Building Department for commercial or residential buildings, a Certificate of
Compliance must be issued by Development Services.
The issuance of a Certificate of Compliance is a
multidisciplinary process requiring site inspections of the completed site by
Development Services, Environmental Sciences, Lee County
Utilities, the Lee County Department of Transportation (LDOT), and the Florida
Department of Transportation (FDOT) if work was performed within their
respective right of way.
The Certificate of Compliance progress is set in
motion through the submission of Letters of Substantial Compliance from the
project Civil Engineer for site work, Lighting Engineer for site lighting, and
Registered Landscape Architect for required buffers and other landscaping and
environmental matters. For additional questions on the Certificate of
Compliance process, please contact a
Development Services
Inspector.
