About the Library

The first public library in Fort Myers started in 1900 as one room in a store located on the corner of First and Hendry Streets.

Today, the Fort Myers Regional Library is home to the library system’s main genealogy collection and Cornog Plaza, host to the annual ACMA music series and the Southwest Florida Reading Festival.
