Come out and meet your counselors, fill out any missing paperwork and tour the camp site! Open house is the perfect opportunity to make sure you and your children are ready for the summer.

*Boca Grande and Matlacha hours are 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.

These camps offer a full day of excitement. They are the kind of camps you remember when you went to day camp. Day camp activities include arts and crafts, sports, organized games, quiet play, water activities and outdoor activities. Safety is our number one concern, so our staff-to-camper ratio is 1-to-15. Some of our camp locations have numerous outdoor activities, while others have a combination of both indoor/outdoor activities. As a part of Lee County Parks & Recreation’s commitment to fitness and environment, all camps will have outdoor activities each day. 

Water Wonders Camp

8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. – $85 per child/week (ages 12-13)
Explore the Lake in Lakes Park! Have you ever wondered what lives in it, on it and around the lake?  Through hands-on experiments, games, speakers and team challenges, campers will learn the secrets of the lake!    All campers need to bring a lunch, two snacks, insulated water bottle, and sunscreen.  A change of clothing and water shoes are required for this week.

Slough Secrets

June 16-20, 2025

Campers experience boardwalk explorations, scavenger hunts, and other activities to find out how animals and plants work together to make the Slough such a special place.

Outdoor Explorers Camp

Offers young nature enthusiasts an exciting opportunity to explore the outdoors, develop essential skills, and foster a love for nature. Fishing, wildlife observation, and survival skills will be included in these weeks. 

Colors of Nature Camp

Do you just see green, brown, and blue outside? Unleash and explore your creativity through painting, recycling, textiles, and nature!  All campers need to bring a lunch, two snacks, insulated water bottle, and sunscreen.  

Eco-Detectives Camp 1

Manatee Park
June 23-27, 2025
8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. – $85 per child (ages 8-10)  
Campers will spend the week learning about the many ecosystems represented in Manatee Park. They will go on outdoor adventures including kayak trips. There will be speakers and activities that educate and inspire your camper to care for the world around them.

Art in the Park Camp

Discover the varies types of art in the park and use different mediums to create your own masterpieces!  Scavenger hunts, games, and good old fashion fun!  All campers need to bring a lunch, two snacks, insulated water bottle, and sunscreen.  

S.T.E.A.M. Camp

Designed for curious minds, this program blends hands-on activities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics to ignite creativity and foster a love for learning. Activities will include guest speakers, hands on projects and teamwork! 

Summer Naturalists

Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve 
July 7-11, 2025
8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. – $85 per child (ages 10-12) 
Summer Naturalists love searching for animals in the Slough. Campers learn nature awareness techniques to notice wildlife, identify animal signs and understand how their presence can influence animals behavior. Hands-on learning occurs in every session and will include using binoculars, spotting scopes and artifacts. The week will culminate in a wet walk into the interior of the Slough.

World of Water Camp

Play games, make crafts, and explore water! From the lake water to the faucet water, we will play and learn from it all!  All campers need to bring a lunch, two snacks, insulated water bottle, and sunscreen.  A change of clothing and water shoes are required for this week.

Get your creative juices flowing with paint, clay, paper, rock, wood, fish and anything else we can find! Campers will experiment with different materials, try new techniques and learn to see the beauty in all forms of art. H2O and a Way We Go Camp

Campers explore the water, land, and animal side of Lakes Park.  Prepare to learn through games, crafts, Legos and team challenges.    All campers need to bring a lunch, two snacks, insulated water bottle, and sunscreen.

Wilderness Explorers

Campers challenge themselves in the areas of tracking, animal study, awareness and primitive skills. Examples of skills include fiber twining, shelter building and fire by friction.

Outdoor Explorer Camp

Offers young nature enthusiasts an exciting opportunity to explore the outdoors, develop essential skills, and foster a love for nature. Fishing, wildlife observation, and survival skills will be included in these weeks. 

To ensure your child has a safe and rewarding camp experience, each camp counselor is carefully chosen. They have passed a background check and must be current in CPR/First Aid.  All staff undergo an intense training that includes behavior management, safety procedures, proper planning and programming skills, department standards and expectations. Camp counselors are trained to take the time to listen and help build your child's self-esteem and self-confidence. More than 60 percent of summer staff has worked with Lee County Parks & Recreation for two to three years and in some cases, as many as six to seven years. This high return of counselors is a mark of endorsement and knowledge of their passion to work with your child in a fun and rewarding environment.
