Do you shred documents at your business?
Do not recycle shredded paper. The sorting equipment tears it into tiny pieces where it becomes litter mixed in with the recyclable commodities - lowering their market value. Please place shredded paper in your garbage can so it can be converted to electricity at the Waste-to-Energy plant.
Lee County does not provide paper shredding/ document destruction service.
But there are several private businesses that do.
