Permanent Shut-Off
To terminate service with Lee County Utilities, complete the Termination of Service Request Form and submit it to Lee County Utilities one of four ways:NOTE: The disconnection date cannot be back-dated and must be submitted one business day in advance of the termination date.
NOTE: As a public agency, LCU is subject to Florida's open records laws. Under Florida law, email addresses are public records. If you do not want your email address released in response to a public records request, do not send electronic mail to LCU. Instead, contact us by phone or in writing.
Temporary Disconnect
Residents who plan on leaving their home on a temporary basis have several options available which are listed below. Those who are considering temporarily vacating their premise cannot close their utility account. The Owner of Record is responsible for the monthly base charges for utilities services on all residential properties. Monthly base charges will continue to be assessed for each service at all residential properties for any of the options listed below.
No Disconnect
A resident who is away for an extended period does not need to notify Lee County Utilities. Customers may monitor their water usage from the smart meter data via the customer portal: myutilities.leegov.com.
Self-Disconnect
A resident can shut off the water at their home’s main water shutoff valve without contacting Lee County Utilities. If unexpected water usage is a concern, from the meter to the house, the resident can monitor water usage from the smart meter date data via the customer portal: myutilities.leegov.com.
Hard Disconnect
A resident can request a hard disconnect. If the customer prefers this method, the meter is turned off by Lee County Utilities and the customer will incur a charge for disconnection. Upon the request of the customer, service will be turned on at the meter on the date requested, or the nearest business day. A reconnection charge will be incurred when the service is rendered.
