Main Building Closed - Service Available in Meeting Rooms
The Fort Myers Regional Library main building is closed temporarily for repairs and renovation. Repairs will address damage caused by Hurricane Ian along with the installation of new flooring on the second level. 

While closed, limited library service and programming is available in the meeting rooms at the library’s South Building, located on the downtown campus at 1651 Lee St. Hours at this location will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Service includes a collection of new books and children’s books for check out and material returns including a 24/7 book drop and holds pick up. Wi-Fi is available on the north and south plazas. Select library programs will be held throughout the closure.

About the Library

The first public library in Fort Myers started in 1900 as one room in a store located on the corner of First and Hendry Streets. 

Today, the Fort Myers Regional Library is home to the library system’s main genealogy collection and Cornog Plaza, host to the annual ACMA music series and the Southwest Florida Reading Festival.
