About the SWFL Reciprocal Borrowing Program
Note for residents of Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hendry and Monroe Counties. You may register for a free Lee County Library System library card. The card allows you to borrow materials from all branches, download eBooks and use computers.
To get a Lee County library card: Residents of neighboring counties must check to see if their own community's library is a participant in the program. If it is, then they must first visit their community library and ask for a SWFLN Reciprocal Borrowing sticker. It will be affixed to their community library card. These stickers expire at the end of the year.
Next, they should present their community library card with the SWFLN sticker
at any LCLS location to apply for a LCLS library card. A photo ID and proof of address are required.
Printed materials borrowed from LCLS through the Reciprocal Borrowing program may be returned to any LCLS branch.
Please Note: Reciprocal borrowers are not eligible to request Interlibrary Loans, check out items from the Speaking Book and Launchpad collections, or use other LCLS reference e-sources remotely. Note for Lee County residents and Lee County Library System Card holders. To become eligible to borrow materials from libraries in neighboring counties follow the same procedures.
