Our Mission:

To ensure the health, safety and general welfare of the citizens of Lee County
by providing a responsible and economical solid waste management system.

Over the past 30 years, Lee County Solid Waste has developed one of the country's most successful and sustainable recycling and solid waste management systems.

Lee County has consistently been in the state’s top five counties for recycling since 2012 and was Florida’s top recycling county in 2021 with an 81% recycling rate. Prior to 2021, Lee County was also the top recycling county in 2019, 2018, and 2014.

The Solid Waste Department plans to continue implementing programs that make recycling, resource recovery and responsible waste management easier. We pledge to strive for even more effective and sustainable solutions for the future.
