Purpose:
Responsible for the conduct of the Comprehensive Planning Program and the preparation of the Lee County Comprehensive Land Use Plan; responsible for making recommendations to the Board regarding the adoption of the Plan or any element or portion thereof. Monitors and oversees the effectiveness and status of the Plan and recommends changes to the Plan to the Board. Prepares reports as required by Section 163.3191, F.S. In addition, the LPA reviews proposed land development regulations, land development codes and amendments thereto and makes recommendations to the Board as to consistency of the proposed legislation with the Lee Plan. Performs other functions, duties and responsibilities which may be assigned to it by the Board or under general or special law.
